This guide shows you how to connect this source. By the end you will be able to have leads from your Facebook and Instagram lead ads appear in FollowThroo within seconds, and know how to test it.
Before you start
- Admin access to the Facebook Page that runs your lead ads, with full control including ads.
- At least one lead form on that Page (Meta Business Suite, under Lead ads forms).
- You must be an owner or admin of your FollowThroo workspace.
Steps
- 1
In FollowThroo, open Settings, then Lead sources, and find the Meta Lead Ads box.
- 2
Click Connect Facebook Page. Facebook opens and asks you to sign in.
- 3
Facebook shows a list of your Pages. Tick the Pages that run your lead ads, then continue.
- 4
You come back to FollowThroo and the Pages are listed in the box. You can connect more Pages later, or click Disconnect to remove one.
- 5
To check it works, open Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool (developers.facebook.com/tools/lead-ads-testing), choose your Page and form, and click Create lead. The person should appear in Leads within a few seconds, and the box should say Configured.
If something goes wrong
- You changed who can see your leads in Meta Business Suite.
- Normally all Page admins and connected apps can see a Page's leads, and FollowThroo counts once the Page is connected. If you changed that setting, add FollowThroo to the allowed list: in Meta Business Suite go to Settings, then Integrations, then Leads access, choose your Page, click Customise access, and add FollowThroo. Until you do, none of that Page's leads reach FollowThroo.
- Facebook says it has no Pages to share.
- You need to be an admin of the Page with full control, including ads. Ask the Page's owner to give you that role, or ask them to connect the Page themselves.
- The message says the Page is already connected to another FollowThroo workspace.
- One Page can send leads to one workspace only. Disconnect it in the other workspace first, then connect it here.
- The message says Facebook wouldn't turn on lead notifications for the Page.
- Your role on the Page doesn't allow it. You need full control of the Page, including its ads.
- Leads were arriving and then stopped.
- This usually happens after a Facebook password change, or if FollowThroo was removed from your Facebook business settings. Facebook then takes the permission back. Click Connect Facebook Page again.
- The testing tool says your Page has no form.
- Create a lead form for the Page in Meta Business Suite, under Lead ads forms. A form collects nothing until an ad uses it, so a practice form is harmless.
- A lead arrived without a name, or was not created.
- FollowThroo creates a lead only when it has an email address or a phone number. Add one of those questions to your form.
Nothing here matches what you see? Go through the checklist for leads that aren't arriving.
